By Mike Spieker CRARY, N.D. (September 1, 2018) – The Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints and Canadian-American Outlaw Sprints made their final appearance of the season to Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday night. Nine-time NOSA champion, Wade Nygaard, raced to his second consecutive and 16th overall win at the high-banked one-third mile dirt oval. Jordan Adams held the early lead as the field of eighteen 410 Sprint Cars took the green for their 25-lap feature. On lap seven, NOSA rookie Brendan Mullen, got upside down in turn three. Mullen barrel rolled off the corner, but landed on his wheel and kept his foot on the throttle and drove away from the incident. Still, the red flag was displayed and Mullen was sent to the pits with top wing damage.
Adams continued to lead on the restart, but he was passed by Jordan Graham on lap eight. Graham showed the way, tip-toeing around the low side of the speedway, until Nygaard powered around the outside of him in turn four with 10 to go. Once out front, Nygaard checked out from the field. The win for Nygaard was his eighth of the season. Jade Hastings, Bob Martin, Adams and Roemeling, who rebounded from causing a caution with six to go, rounded out the top five. Drew Wilhelmi led all 12 laps en route to his Circle Track Mini Truck feature win. A.J. Davenport started on the pole and led all 15 trips around Devils Lake Speedway to pick up the Pure Stock win. Davenport took the win over Cody Armstrong, Lane Bachmeier and Mark Bromstad. The WISSOTA Midwest Mod and Street Stock features were postponed to Sunday’s event due to rain.
