Ramsey Repair Night Recap - May 7th, 2016

DOYON, ND (May 7, 2016) - The WISSOTA PolyDome Dirt Track Series has already kicked into overdrive at Devils Lake Speedway. The track, fans, drivers, and crews have already braved a cold and windy early start, already 3 weeks into the racing season. Drivers have been racking up season points with the early jump on upper Midwest tracks.

The Mark’s Hwy 2 Service Street Stocks hauled in 21 cars for a $1000 to win Street Stock Special. The special brought in Cory Dykoff from Perham, MN, Jim Geringer from Harwood, ND and many more. Track Officials held a special $200 "winner take all" Dash for Cash which put eight driver in a fast 10 lap run for the money. Cory Dykoff would power out front and lead the entire pack to the win for the quick $200 take home pay.
 
The feature was an amazing ballet of 21 cars for 25 laps. Gregor lined up at pole and dominated the top spot for 25 laps. The field was reset after the one and only caution of the event and an epic battle for second between Stangeland and Robertson commenced for 14 laps as Dykoff and Harpole followed in fourth and fifth, respectively. Stangeland and Robertson manuevered high and low swapping lanes on the track through lapped cars and used the lap cars to their advantage to stay ahead of Dykoff and Harpole. At the checkers Stangeland edged a tire in front of Robertson out of turn four and took second. Robertson finished third while Dykoff and Harpole rounded out the top five. Bo Gregor took his machine to victory lane and collected the special $1000 purse. The hard charger award undoubtedly went to Jim Geringer who started 21st and finished 9th.
 
The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds had a light night with only 13 cars
In the feature event 13 cars started and all cars finished with only a few cautions. Cody Wall started on pole with Stoney Kruk to his outside. Wall and Kruk blasted on the green with the pack on the attack. Haugland, Schill, Hunter and Cousins provided top entertainment as they switched positions while running three wide both high and low. Haugland and Schill hugged the tires and slid up front, Schill going high and Haugland down low. With five laps to go Schill tightened up the battle with Haugland, racing quarter panel to quarter panel inside turn four. Schill was able to take the lead, but Haugland challenged him on every corner. Meanwhile Hunter and Kruk raced behind the leader with Cousins and Yonke embroiled in lane changes until the checkered. Schill would take the victory with Haugland, Hunter, Kruk, and Cousins rounding out the top five.
